Premier League side Arsenal are left frustrated with their midfielder interest Thomas Partey. The club is hoping the player would be more willing to work with their wage structure amid an inviting project under coach Mikel Arteta – a project that has given birth to two titles in a short time.

Per reports, the player is looking for a huge deal and wants a big salary that the Gunners are not inclined to. The club is tied up in complusory contract extension talks with star player and skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as they do not want to lose him for free. The Gabon international is willing to stay so they just have to offer good terms and wrap up the deal.

While the club has managed funds to add quality additions like Willian from Chelsea, defender Gabriel Magalhaes, Pablo Mari, Cedric Soares and Dani Ceballos on another loan spell from Madrid. Arteta still wants a workaholic box to box like Partey, hoping that they can agree personal terms with the player in question and tempt Atletico Madrid to reduce their valuation of the player from 50 million euros.

Arsenal had to offer Alexandre Lacazette and Matteo Guendouzi as swaps but Atletico refused, prefering cash. While they may be willing to take Guendouzi, they are unwilling to add another striker to their payroll when they have enough options.

Atletico wants Arsenal to wrap up talks as soon as they can else they will listen to offers from Inter Milan and Paris St Germain for Partey, who are likely to meet the player’s release clause.

Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour also thinks Lacazette will be the one to be sacrificed so the club can land Partey to sit ahead of the shaky defense. Arsenal have goalscoring options from youngsters to new additions to Aubameyang, and with Laca dropping form recently Arsenal are willing to let him go for the sake of team balance.
